If only I lived a hundred years ago, I could meet my ancestors and talk to them about their dreams and their struggles. I could immerse myself in a culture that was rich in tradition, of which only echoes are now left.
If only I could go back to my childhood, I could enjoy pure friendships and family life. I could kiss my father again, I could have a conversation with my mother, and I could have a sleepover with my best friend and our dolls. We could dream of our future and imagine what life may bring to us.
If only I could live in the future, I could meet my descendants and see how large my family has grown. I could see what kind of world they live in and know if our current fears and hopes were realized. I could see for myself what must be left to my imagination now.
If only I could learn to appreciate the present, I could spend time with my friends and family, I could tell them that I love them, and I could find the contentment that is in each moment, whether it be a moment of joy or pain. I would know that what I have now, I have never had before, and I would never have again.
If only . . .
