We Can Be Our Own Worst Enemy

Worst Enemy

Back me against a wall and I will defend myself with a ferocity.  But leave me to my own demons and I will do a great job of tearing myself down all on my own.

We learn that people don’t like other people who gloat and brag about themselves and so we learn to play down our own attributes and achievements as not to offend others.  The truth is that sometimes, people who seem the strongest and the most sure of themselves, are really the ones who are the most vulnerable inside.  The veneer that we show the world is sometimes only there to cover up what we are really feeling.

So for anyone who is ready to appoint themselves judge and jury, remember that people are three-dimensional and you may not be seeing all sides of a person at the same time.
