Step Outside

There are times when depression takes over and clouds your day.  Perhaps you don’t even know why you are feeling down and yet the feelings well up inside of you.  There’s nothing that you can pin it on, but it’s there, nonetheless.  You want to close the shades and wallow in the sadness.  Shut out the world and turn your thoughts inward so that the darkness can engulf you.

Change your focus.  Redirect your thoughts.  Open the shades.  See that the world exists beyond you.  Take a walk in the fresh air.  Feel the sun on your face.  Realize how important you are, and yet, how insignificant you are.  The world is not on your shoulders.  You only need to step outside of yourself to see the way out.   Author of The Tin Box Secret
