I remember September school mornings and how full of promise those days were. A new year of school beginning meant reuniting with old friends. A new year of school beginning held the possibilities of making new friends. No one thought about the school work in those early days of September. We thought about our clothes and our hair and how we looked. We thought about how everyone else had changed over the summer. Some old friends became almost unrecognizable. Changes. Shaking up the monotony of summer. Cooler weather and fresh air. The promise of apples, pumpkins and apple cider just around the corner. Possibilities.
